Here are the links one more time:
I have some more great giveaways coming up and will be announcing them next week.
Speaking of next week, I will be starting half marathon training. Woohoo!
I decided to go with the Hal Higdon training plan. Because I haven't run in over a month...Yikes! I am going to start off with the novice plan and see how my knees hold up. I don't anticipate any problems but I also don't want any set backs. It is a 12-week training plan and I had mentioned early this week that Tuesday will be Training Tuesday here on the blog so you can follow my training if you'd like.
I spoke with another runner this week and she was trying to figure out a way to motivate herself and came up with the idea of choosing a destination to run to; I mean, not actually run there but virtually and see how long it takes to get there. Oh my gosh, I love that idea!
I have a goal this year to run 500 miles, I know that isn't a lot for some people but it would be for me. Remember, this is only my 2nd year of running and holy cow it was such a bad year last year it almost doesn't count. Ugh! So I was thinking about getting a map and finding somewhere 500 miles from here and map my distance and location along the way. I am sure this is not an original idea and there is probably even an app for it but I am going to pretend that this is all new and unheard of. If you know about an app you can tell me but I will probably swear that they stole the idea! Haha...not really!
What do you think? Anyone want to run the US with me?
Hmm...I wonder what is 500 miles from me? I think I will do that today.
Well, after my homework and after Trader Joe's; Mother Hubbard's cupboards are pretty darn bare over here.
Ok, so I reminded you about the giveaways...Go enter!!
I told you about my training starting and my really cool and new idea of mapping a virtual run across the US. What am I forgetting? Oh!
I will give you more info next week but I am going to start a new link-up called Finish Line Friday.
Crossing a finish line can mean a lot of things, for someone it means you won but not too many people are going for that win. It doesn't matter whether or not you are the first to cross the finish line because you still accomplished a goal. How many times have you heard "Always finish what you started"?
We have all heard it. So whether you are running, swimming, doing a project at work or home there is a point where it is mission accomplished! You have finished something you started.
That is what Finish Line Friday is all about - It is about celebrating an accomplishment for that day or that week. Maybe not even something on a time line, but still something worth celebrating. That will start next week so you will come back and link up your blog posts, right?
Be sure and come celebrate on Friday the 14th - Valentine's Day!
Oh hey, I learned this recently...Did you know there is such a thing as Valentine's Week?
Yup, it starts today!
Pretty cool, right?
Today is 'Rose Day' so...
I have one last thing to share and it is pretty important.
I briefly mentioned that I lived with an eating disorder for many, many years. It is truly something I am not very comfortable talking about and I feel that it is in my past and it is much easier to leave it there.
However, I have come to realize that there are so many people in every age, both men & women and from all walks of life that are living with eating disorders and I felt it was time that I put my story out there and not just get past it but accept it, as well. It is often easier just to walk away but taking the easy way isn't always best.
That being said, I have signed up for my first NEDA Walk benefiting the National Eating Disorders Association. NEDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by eating disorders. The NEDA Walk is a non-competitive fundraiser supporting NEDA and is a community awareness-raising event.
By clicking the link you can get more information as well as read more of my story. There is also a spot for you to donate, if you would like. Any donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. I don't have a very large goal and every bit counts. I can't thank you enough for your support in something so important to me.
Gosh, this is turning into a novel, isn't it? I told you I had lots of things to talk about! And here's something else...
Snow. So. Much. Snow.
Ugh...can someone start doing a sunshine dance and help us get rid of this? Of course, it is 3 degrees out so only so much melting to be done. Blah!
All that shoveling lead to this...
A little yoga-stretching extravaganza to get rid of this sore back. Oh that shoveling!
I am loving yoga time even though I am pretty clueless. Anyone have any workouts, books or websites that would help me on my yogattempt?
My friends, it is time for me to get my blogging booty on to the next project.
I hope you have a great day and don't forget to enter the giveaways!
