Training Tuesday Week 4 & a Giveaway!

Good Morning!
Can you believe it, it is already week 4 of half marathon training?!
Things are going pretty well, I'd say. I am happy with my runs and my knees seem to be doing really well. I was definitely worried about them in the beginning but they seem to be good. Yay!
This week is a repeat of last week's schedule with two 3.5 mile runs, a 2 mile and long run is 5 miles.
The weather still isn't cooperating so the schedule is having to be adjusted but I am still getting my long runs in and I am happy with the pace so I think that is the most important thing.
Actually took my long run on Saturday instead of Sunday and it started to snow by mile 4. My phone died right before the run ended but it was just over 5 miles and the pace I am not sure of because when my phone died it lost the pauses in the run. Ugh! I had a sock 'situation' and had to stop a couple of times to try and fix that and then the app kept running when the phone died so the clock kept ticking, haha! Oh well, the miles are what I am worried about right now.
The poor maple tree is ready for spring. It holds on to its old leaves until spring. Poor thing. Everything is pretty black & white and gloomy. Some cabin fever is definitely creeping in. 16 more days until spring, Woohoo!
I had a great weekend and still loving my yoga. Doing yoga daily and sometimes twice a day.
I am starting to see a bit of progress and am amazed at the strength it takes for some of the poses!
I feel like my core is getting stronger and strong core = strong runner!
Other than training, I am down to the last 10 days of this term for school. YES!
I get a nice 3 week break before I am back at it and I am so ready!
This little chocolate chip muffin was my post run snack/dinner. Haha...and the fireplace.
Perfect Saturday night. Loved it!
I can't believe there are just 60 days until my half. The Novi Half Marathon website has a handy little ticker, just like mine! 
I am getting excited, it is pretty cool to be able to do my first half so close to home.
My friends over at the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon are training hard, as well!
I am so excited about being an official blogger for such an awesome event. Everyone I have talked to has been so nice and for whatever reason, I have never been to Cleveland and I am excited to spend the weekend there and exploring the city a bit. How can a weekend of expos and running friends not be awesome?!
I am running the 10K but there is an event for everyone. I sure hope to see some familiar faces when I am there. You are going to look for me, right?!
I will be cheering everyone on!
I actually have a race this weekend, Shamrocks & Shiganenans...sounds fun, right?
I am going to go see if I can find a St. Patrick's day shirt today. No, not a costume girl but I am good with a fun t-shirt. haha!

 So I mentioned how my knees seem to be doing really well.

Yup, the 'fall' of 2013. Ugh! Christmas Eve nose dive courtesy of the snow covered ice on my run.
Seriously both knees? And I am sure I looked so cool falling. I am sure it was pretty graceful.
Yes, I got up and kept running and every day for the following week.
Ok, may not have been the smartest move but it was the end of the Runner's World Running Streak and I had been running every day since Thanksgiving and wasn't stopping with a week left to go. No way!
I'm no quitter! Ha!
New Year's day was the Commitment Day 5K and the last day of running for 5½ weeks while I healed the bum knees.

    Glad your training is going well :) I have never heard of Noxicare, but it sounds wonderful! I am an elite athlete, so I am always looking for ways to reduce inflammation, and recover faster!

    I would love others to check out my blog with my nutritional/training advice from a professional athlete. I post lots of healthy meals I enjoy for fueling my training, and post weekly training updates as I strive for the olympic A standard in the marathon :)

    This stuff sounds amazing. Considering that I am unable to take meds such as ibuprofen due to stomach problems, this would be a great alternative. Hoping I win.

    Yikes! Your knees took a beating! I also fell right before Christmas walking the dog and fell on my side. My hip was bruised for days. But I am totally interested in that natural anti-inflammatory because sometimes I worry about the stuff I put on my body. And cabin fever is creeping in here too! So ready for this to be over!

    I am excited and nervous! Right now I just want to get outside and run without 15 layers of winter clothes! LOL...
    The knees still have some sore days; I can't believe it has taken so long for them to heal!

    Yes, I did a number on them for sure! It is taking forever for them to not be a bit sore, sometimes I think breaks heal sooner than bruises! Sorry for the delayed response, my blog would not let me comment for some unknown reason but all fixed now!
